Actress and comedian Roseanne Barr signed with NBC to develop a comedy series for the network in which she would star in and executive produce, according to Reuters.

The former star of her own television series Roseanne, Barr will work on the new project with producer Steven Grenner. The two  worked together in 2011 on the Lifetime reality series Roseanne's Nuts.

As part of the deal, Barr will star in three episodes of NBC's The Office as talent agent Carla Fern. She will help Andy Bernard (played by Ed Helms) pursue the career in show business he always dreamed about. The Office is in its final season after nine years of being on air.

Barr tried to sign on with NBC for a television series in 2012. The network picked up her comedy show Downwardly Mobile to pilot in January but never ordered it to series, according to The Los Angeles Times.  The show would have featured Barr as a trailer park operator, and would have reunited the actress with her Roseanne costar John Goodman.

Roseanne aired from 1988 to 1997 and became an iconic television portrayal of a working-class family struggling in tough economic times. It stars Barr, Goodman, Sarah Gilbert, Johnny Galecki and Laurie Metcalf.
