Baby boom is definitely in the air, thanks to another Hollywood couple. Penelope Cruz and her husband Javiar Bardem are expecting their second child, US Weekly reported.

The New York Post first reported the 38-year-old was expecting, citing unidentified sources. Sources close to the couple indeed confirmed the pregnancy to other media outlets. The Twice Born actress is in her first-trimester, around three months, according to E!.

Penelope Cruz and Bardem exchanged their vows back in 2010, during a small ceremony held at a friend's home in the Bahamas. They welcomed their first child in 2011, a boy named Leonardo.

Speaking to Vogue shortly after her first pregnancy, Penelope Cruz gushed being a first-time mother and how it changed her.

"It is a revolutionary experience. That's the best way I can describe it. It transforms you completely, in a second. Nature is the very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment, when you see that face, you are transformed forever," she said in an interview on the magazine's 2011 issue.

Penelope Cruz and Bardem will have someone to help with the pregnancy for a few months, as her younger sister Monica Cruz is pregnant also. Monica Cruz revealed earlier this month that she was expecting a baby via an anonymous sperm donor.

"I'm going to be a mother!" the model wrote on her blog for the Spanish newspaper El Pais. "So I decided to tell: to get pregnant, I have resorted the artificial dissemination. want to tell me also to have the opportunity to show my gratitude to all those anonymous help many women to meet, like me, the dream of their lives. If that I can help others who have questions, here I have for what they need," she said. 

Bardem won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his outstanding role in No Country for Old Men.  Penelope Cruz also has a Best Supporting Actress Oscar under her belt for her comedic character in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, which also starred Bardem.

The couple will join forces in the upcoming film, The Counselor, which is set to be released in November 2013.
