South Africa vs Mali takes place in the Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday. This quarter final is a rematch of the last eight encounter between the two sides in the 2002 competition. In that game Mali came out on top but South Africa will be desperate to gain revenge and progress to the semi finals today. The game will start at 1.30 p.m. ET and can be watched online through live stream via the link provided below.

Mali will be up against it today with first-choice keeper Mamadou Samassa out with suspension. Covering for him is likely to be penalty specialist Soumbeyla Dakota, who will come in useful if this one goes all the way.

If South Africa can win today it will be their first semi final appearance since 2000, and fans are already expectant for their players to make that happen.

South Africa coach Gordon Iggesund has said ahead of today’s big game, "Mali are a talented team with very good players. They play differently from the other sides we have met so far.

"They like to slow things down, they like to knock the ball around.

"The Malians are all big boys. I watched them draw against the Democratic Republic of Congo and all 11 are tall.

"We have to use the ball well, keep it on the ground, get behind them."

Meanwhile, Mali are comfortable with their billing as underdogs for this game, and coach Patrice Carteron has said, "Everyone expects South Africa to reach the semi-finals. We have nothing to lose and will try to upset the home team.

"Malians back home have not had much to cheer about apart from the Cup of Nations and we will be playing for them."
