Chris Brown just caught a huge break from an unlikely source. Frank Ocean, 25, who claimed he was beaten by Brown and his posse, backtracked and decided to drop all charges against the R&B singer on Saturday Feb. 2.

Ocean, 25, said he will forego pressing any charges and instead chose to forgive and forget. On his Tumblr account the artist wrote:

“As a child I thought if someone jumped me it would result in me murdering or mutilating a man. But as a man I am not a killer. I’m an artist and a modern person. I’ll choose sanity. No criminal charges. No civil lawsuit. Forgiveness, albeit difficult, is wisdom. Peace, albeit trite, is what I want in my short life. Peace.”

Contrary to Ocean’s current stance, the singer’s music producer Michael Uzowuru gave a play by play on the big brawl on his Formspring account.

Uzowuru said the whole fight began over a parking space. Ocean and his crew got a little antsy when they pulled up to Westlake music studio to find Brown’s orange lamborghini in his labeled parking spot. The fight reportedly escalated quickly.

After alerting the front desk to the problem, Uzowuru said Brown came out 10 minutes later with two guys. Brown went to greet Ocean but the singer said, “You parked in my spot, move.” Uzorwuru said that out of nowhere one of Brown’s friends punched their friend Chito in the face.

“Then instantly Chris and the other dude grab [Frank] and try to jump him”, he said.

Uzorwuru believed that the whole fight was a set-up by Brown to continue their beef. Describing Brown’s role in the fight in greater detail, he said Brown and a friend tackled Ocean, sending him flying into a “big fake candle display laced with glass.” He said it’s where Ocean got the cut that could hinder his Grammy performance.

As for Brown, Uzorwuru has few words for him. “I wish nothing but the best for Chris Brown and his friend. More than anything I saw a young man, who’s very misguided and has a lot of blackness and anger in his soul.... I don't know what type of demons Chris is facing, but I hope he clears them all and finds a new life rooted in love and light."
