Favorite Christmas Movie Tournament 2015: From ‘A Christmas Carol’ In 1938 To ‘The Polar Express,’ Which Festive Film Rules? [POLLS]
It's Christmastime, which means fitting in some chill time to watch hours upon hours of Christmas movies with loved ones.
Throughout the years so many Christmas-themed movies have been made for the big screen as well as the small screen.
That got us thinking about which one is the ultimate Christmas movie to watch especially now since it is December and Christmas will be here very soon. So we compiled a list of 16 of the best Christmas movies from comedies to animated creations spanning from 1938 to 2004. Trust us, it was difficult to narrow down the options to just 16, but we managed.
Below will kick off Round 1 of the Enstars Readers' Choice Favorite Christmas Movie Tournament 2015.
Home Alone vs. Elf
Home Alone is an absolute classic that goes synonymously with Christmastime thanks to Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) getting left behind by his family in the ritzy Chicago suburb he calls home. He puts up one hell of a fight against two burglars, Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern), who have been terrorizing his neighborhood with most families away for the holidays.
Elf like Home Alone is a comedy, but tells an entirely different tale. Will Ferrell shines as Buddy, a human that was raised by elves in the North Pole since he stowed away in Santa's (Edward Asner) sack of toys. Buddy knows nothing of the human world so when he returns there as an adult to look for his biological father Walter (James Caan) he comes across a variety of unfortunate, yet hilarious instances.

Gremlins vs. Jingle All the Way
Gremlins is hilarious and slightly frightening! It is set during the holiday season, but the Mogwai Gizmo (Howie Mandel) that Billy (Zach Galligan) is given breeds chaos since the rules of caring for him are not followed.
Jingle All the Way is probably one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's most comical movies. It's about his character Howard being on the hunt for a Turbo-Man action figure that his son Jamie (Jake Lloyd) wants for Christmas. Howard will do anything to get his son this gift so a lot of craziness arises, including Schwarzenegger's character dressing up as Turbo-Man for a parade.

Die Hard vs. Scrooged
Die Hard is an action thriller that takes place on Christmas Eve. Bruce Willis portrays badass New York City Police Department officer John McClane attempting to reconcile with his estranged wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia) at a Christmas party in Los Angeles. That gets put on the backburner when he fights off a group of terrorists that took his wife and other party guests hostage though.
Scrooged is a funny modern-day telling of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, in which Bill Murray's character Frank is a selfish, cynical TV executive that gets haunted by three spirits on Christmas Eve that harbor lessons he needs to learn.

A Charlie Brown Christmas vs. The Nightmare Before Christmas
You cannot go wrong with enjoying the Christmas festivities with the animated A Charlie Brown Christmas that's based off the Peanuts comic strip. Charlie Brown (Peter Robbins) realizes what Christmas is all about.
The Nightmare Before Christmas is another animated Christmas-themed movie, in which Jack Skellington (Chris Sarandon) a resident of Halloween Town discovers Christmas Town and wants to celebrate Christmas back in Halloween Town. A lot of mishaps occur, but it's a funny film.

A Christmas Story vs. A Christmas Carol (1938 Version)
All Ralphie (Peter Billingsley) wanted for Christmas was a Red Ryder Carbine-Action, 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle with a compass in the stock and a sundial, but he kept getting his wish squashed since many told him he'd shoot his eye out. Ralphie eventually gets what he wants though thanks to his dad (Darren McGavin) so A Christmas Story has a happy ending with some silliness in the mix.
A Christmas Carol is an old adaptation of Charles Dickens' novella of the same name. This adaptation has remained one of the most popular film versions with Reginald Owen portraying Ebenezer Scrooge, a role that he is most known for.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation vs. How the Grinch Stole Christmas
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is a hilarious movie about the Griswold family looking to have a big Christmas gathering, but of course things go awry. Chevy Chase is a delight in this film.
Jim Carrey is one hilarious actor and he really brings the Grinch to life in this movie. As evil as the Grinch is with wanting to steal Christmas, it's hard to totally hate him.
