Indian fashion model Poonam Pandey posted a photo wearing sexy lingerie on Twitter and said it was to welcome India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who just opened a Twitter account.

Pandey's photo stirred controversy in the country where several strict obscenity laws exist.

Pandey tweeted: "#iHeard @PMOIndia is on Twitter, does he Knows that @iPoonampandey is on Twitter too ...so a Welcoming Pic."

@PMOIndia is the twitter account of Singh.

The model is famous for using stripping for publicity. In one case, she offered to strip naked in front of a packed stadium if India won the 2011 Cricket World Cup. India won, however she didn't do it.
