When Jennifer Lopez took to the Grammys stage on Feb. 10 to present an award with Pitbull, the audience could not stop gazing at her dress' revealing slit and the amount of leg the singer was showing.

The singer struck an Angelina Jolie pose on the red carpet before entering the Staples Center where the cermony was held, and showed her entire right leg in a dress testing the limits set by the Grammys.

"This is on the cusp of pushing the limit on the Grammys!" E!'s Ryan Seacrest told her, referring to the CBS memo warning artists not to bare too much skin at the Grammys

"They said nothing about the legs!" replied Lopez, adding with a smile, "I thought I was being such a good girl! A little shoulder and a little leg."

When she got on stage with Pitbull to present an award, the audience was stunned by her dress but she said "As you can see I read the memo." The entire audience laughed at her comment and Pitbull then said that "You look beautiful. You look gorgous. And you inspired the memo," making a nod to the infamous Versace dress that she wore to the 2001 awards.

In a "wardrobe advisory," broadcaster CBS asked musicians and audience members attending the 2013 Grammys on Feb. 10 to keep their buttocks, nipples and other private areas covered, as well as to avoid wearing brand names on T-shirtys or political/activist slogans. The memo followed a lengthy court battle the network was in when it was fined $550,000 by the Federal Communications Commission for airing a glimpse of Janet Jackson's breast when it was exposed at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2004. The issued memo said as follows:

"Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered. Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare flesh under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack," said the memo issued by CBS standards and practices department and obtained by entertainment industry website Deadline.com on Wednesday.

"Obscenity or partially seen obscenity on wardrobe is unacceptable for broadcast," the note added.

Lopez attended the award with her boyfriend Casper Smart.
