Mark Salling was arrested on charges of possession child pornography on Tuesday, and according to reports, it was one of Salling's ex-girlfriends who turned him in.

On Tuesday, TMZ broke news of Salling's arrest, revealing LAPD's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force obtained a warrant against the Glee actor, and arrested him early that morning.

"An ex-girlfriend of Salling's tipped off cops and they investigated before the raid to make sure it wasn't a revenge allegation," sources told the site.

Although Salling has been linked to a number of women in recent years, including Selena Gomez, Audrina Patridge, Naya Rivera, Nina Dobrev and Lea Michele, he was most recently involved with Big Time Rush actress Denyse Tontz. However, it's hard to say whether or not it was Tontz who turned Salling in, as their relationship allegedly ended in 2014.

Either way, Tontz has been completely silent on both Twitter and Instagram since news of Salling's arrest was revealed.

Even more disturbing than the fact that Salling was reportedly in possession of over 100 images of child pornography is the fact that those featured in the photos were said to be under the age of 10 in "sexual scenes." In a second report by TMZ, it was noted the the photos involved minors "engaging in or simulating sexual conduct."

Salling's family posted $20,000 bail hours after his arrest and he was released.
