Over New Year's, the gymnast added a new selfie where she dons a black shirt that shows the skin on her chest and shoulders. As she lets her hair flow down, she looks up with a big smile on her face, looking radiant for new beginnings.

When it comes to facial expressions, Maroney's most popular one is her 'not impressed' look when she squinted her mouth to the side at the Olympics. Speaking of taking part in the Olympics, the gymnast previously told Teen Vogue that pretty much anything can count as competing even if it's not tumble-related.

"You want to have your hair look the best and your makeup look the best," Maroney said. "You want to be the best, and you want to have the prettiest leotard. For Team USA, we want to have the best leotards that we can, and we always come up with something very cool."

Maroney also revealed what she wears in her casual life.

"I really like crop tops," she said. "I like how you can dress them up or down, with jeans or a skirt and heels. I like to be showy and cute. I don't want to be in just a jacket and pants and boots."
