Matt Bomer isn't comfortable with showing his kids the show he currently stars in, FX's American Horror Story: Hotel.

Bomer recently spoke with Men's Fitness about his role on American Horror Story: Hotel, where he plays hotel tenant Donovan. The actor has been asked to do some pretty explicit things, including a blood orgy sequence with Lady Gaga and some gruesome murders. So the actor has no intention of showing his children the series until they're much older.

"At a certain age, hopefully 18, they're going to dip into my work and go, 'What the [bleep]?' I'm going to have a lot of explaining to do," Bomer said, via PageSix.

Bomer and his partner Simon Halls have three small children. The actor also spoke about being one of the most well known and successful openly gay actors in Hollywood.

"Maybe I was just lucky to be born at the right time. I'm really grateful for it, and I hope that people will always think of me as an actor," he said, of being openly gay in Hollywood. "It took a lot for me to be at this table right now."

It is currently unknown if Bomer will return for season 6 of American Horror Story, but based on his working history with co-creator Ryan Murphy, who he also collaborated with on the HBO film The Normal Heart, the actor will likely be back if Murphy wants him back.

American Horror Story: Hotel airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
