Jess (Zooey Deschanel) will be conspicuously absent for six episodes due to Deschanel's real life pregnancy, but while the titular character is on screen, she will reunite with Dr. Sam.

The About a Boy actor made his New Girl debut when he and Jess mistakenly think they are each other's blind dates in season 2. After six episodes and one minor freak out from Jess, the pair ultimately broke up when Sam found out about Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess' little kiss.

Now that the Nick/Jess romance is a thing of the past, TV Line has announced that Dr. Sam will return for a multi-episode arc this March.

Unfortunately, Sam may soon feel like history is repeating itself. Nick and Jess will have to address their feeling for each other after the latter's jury duty, according to TV Guide, and its those same feelings that shattered Sam's heart in the first place.
