While the Fifty Shades of Grey film favorites for the role of Anastasia Steele seem to be former Gilmore Girls standout Alexis Bledel and Twilight's Kristen Stewart, another name has recently surfaced in the running for the part of the 22-year-old college graduate, Bella Heathcote of Dark Shadows.

It was recently reported by Variety that the beautiful actress was casted in the thriller The Curse of Downers Grave.  Heathcote had starred alongside Johnny Depp in the Dark Shadows flick and was named as one of the publication's 10 Actors to Watch in 2012.

However, what makes the 24-year-old a prime candidate for the racy role is her large blue eyes and delicate physical features, but unlike Bledel, 31, she's closer in age to the saucy character.

Steele is described as a 21-year-old virgin who is very quiet, who eventually agrees to the S&M-crazed billionaire Christian Grey's submissive ways.

Other notable actresses who fans have mentioned regularly as potential candidates for the role include Nina Dobrev of Vampire Diaries and Lucy Hale of Pretty Little Liars.

The sexually dominated Fifty Shades of Grey premise revolves around the powerful, rich and kinky Christian Grey, who gets himself involved in a dominant and submissive sexual relationship with Steele, a shy college alumni. Through an "agreement," the two delve into the kinky world of bondage and masochism.

Up until this point, author E.L. James and the producers of the Fifty Shades flick have remained coy on how the casting process will ultimately unfold.  Only time will tell who lands the coveted role of the college graduate-turned Red Room of Pain participant.
