Country singer Mindy McCready committed suicide on Sunday, authorities in Arkansas confirmed.

The Cleburne County Sheriff's Office in Arkansas confirmed the news today. The 37-year-old singer died of an apparent single self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the office's report.

"At this time family members have been notified of the incident. Ms. Mcready will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the matter will be fully investigated," the office said in a press release.

Deputies from the Cleburne County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a report of gun shots fired in the area of 1132 Fox Chase Drive in Heber Springs. Officers arrived on the scene at 3:58 p.m., according to a statement released by the office today.

They discovered the body of McCready on the front porch of the residence at 1132 Fox Chase. She was pronounced dead at the scene, the office said.

McCready's dead comes just one month after the dead of her boyfriend record producer David Wilson who also committed suicide.

The couple had been together for about two years and had one baby together. "David was my soulmate," McCready said in a statement at the time of Wilson's death. "He was a precious gift from God to all of us and, yesterday, he returned home and is now with his mother and father. David loved and was loved. Those who knew and loved him will miss him; those who did know know David missed the opportunity to know a truly loving and gifted man."

According to various media reports, McCready was devastated for the death of her partner and was drinking heavily.

"Since boyfriend (David Wilson) shot himself she has been in bed for 3 wks," her father said in court documents, according to US Weekly. "Sleeps all day. Drinks all night and is taking Rx drugs. Not bathing or even helping take care of her 2 children."

Earlier this month, McCready entered into rehab and was in a treatment facility for two days. She was released because she was "mentally stable enough," a source told E! News.

In the past, the singer struggled with a fierce custody battle of her son Zander, addiction and more than one suicide attempts.

In 2005 she attempted suicide twice. The first time she was hospitalized for taking a drug overdose, according to People Magazine. In September that year, she reportedly tried to kill herself again and took 30 antidepressants while pregnant.

McCready whose albums include "Ten Thousand Angels" and "If I Don't Stay the Night," is survived by her two sons, Zander, 6, and Zayne, 9 months. The children are in foster care.
