Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez is set to appear face to face with Steve Harvey on The Steve Harvey Show in an interview which is expected to air this coming Jan.18. Reports from ET reveal that it will mark the first time Harvey and the Miss Universe runner-up come face-to-face in public since that cringe-worthy pageant mishap.

Looking back, while hosting the Miss Universe pageant, Harvey mistakenly announced the winner, stating Miss Colombia as the 2016 Miss Universe, but minutes later, the title actually belonged to Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach.

Content Officer For Miss Universe Wants Steve Harvey To Host Again

"I've had a chance to talk to Miss Philippines. I've talked to all the pageant people. I've talked to people backstage. Even me and the director had a long talk, but I haven't been able to reach out and talk to Miss Colombia," Harvey admitted on Tuesday’s episode of his eponymous talk show. "Now, have I tried? Yes, but have gotten not a response."

Meanwhile, the reigning Miss Universe - Miss Philippines recently opened to Entertainment Tonight about the gaffe and even revealed that she is still disappointed by the mix-up. But then, Wurtzbach still wishes the best for Gutierrez for she knows it’s hard to give up the crown.

"I hope that she realizes that this will open doors for her," Wurtzbach told ET's Nischelle Turner. "I think that she will go far."

The new Miss Universe also responded to a comment Miss Colombia made over the weekend, in which she called the gaffe a "great injustice."

"I understand if she feels that way," Miss Philippines said. "If the situation was the other way around, I think I would feel the same way. I think my supporters would feel the same way as well."

The beauty queen also expressed sympathy for Harvey, whom she said apologized to her backstage.
