Country music star Mindy McCready committed suicide on Sunday afternoon in Heber Springs, Ark., on the same front porch where her boyfriend was found dead just one month ago.

The 37-year-old shot and killed the family dog before turning the gun on herself at her residence, according to Daily Mail

As of late McCready was facing suspicion from law enforcement following the death of her live-in boyfriend, David Wilson, who also died from a gunshot wound on Jan. 13. Police said they're still in the midst of investigating whether foul play had something to do with his shooting.

In an interview conducted last month, McCready revealed that her dog located the bullet that killed Wilson and attempted to eat it.

"I didn't find the bullet, the dog did. It was in the dog's mouth. I mean, that's a horrific things to say, but it was in the dog's mouth," she told Dateline NBC.

McCready denied having any involvement in Wilson's death and coined him her "soul mate." She said, "Oh my God, no. He was my life, we were each other's life."

The country singer's death came just days after she was released from rehab. A judge had ordered her to be committed to a mental health facility after she stated that she'd been drinking too much. McCready's father said that she was abusing prescriptions drugs once again.

McCready was in the treatment center for one day before she was given permission to go back home earlier this month.

"She was released because they think she is mentally stable enough, and she was tested for drugs and alcohol and everything came up fine. Nothing illegal came up," a source told E! News"One of the reasons they released her is she didn't have any symptoms of what an alcoholic would have. There were no signs she had a problem to the doctor."
