2016 has not been overly kind to Kaley Cuoco as she mourns the death of her second dog within the year's first week.

Is Kaley Cuoco Eager To Meet Ben Higgins?

After bringing in the new year on a sad note with the announcement that her family dog, Petey, had passed away after 15 years, the actress was forced to share that her most recent rescue dog, Chester, had also sadly passed away.

"It hasn't been a great week for dogs so with a heavy heart I must tell you, sweet Chester (aka Chedder cheese) has passed away," she wrote alongside a photo of the dog. "We rescue these angels blindly and have no idea what problems they may have..I'm still in shock but I just keep feeling blessed to have him in my life even for a small amount of time. He was such a joy-hilarious ears and followed me everywhere I went. He loves people so so much-loved being held and cuddled. Slept right on my pillow every night. I can sleep knowing that he felt extreme love towards the end of his life. Thank you @pawworks for blessing me with the big eared wonder."

"Love you forever Chester Chedder Cheese! #alldogsgotoheaven #adoptdontshop," she wrote.

The loss could be even more heartbreaking for Cuoco because Chester was welcomed into her family during a hard time for the actress. She rescued him not long after announcing she and husband of 21 months Ryan Sweeting had filed for divorce.

She still has three other rescue dogs, Norman, Shirley and Ruby.
