This is great for vegans or anyone who wants to cut down on their meat consumption or just wants to try something different, because cauliflower makes a great substitution for chicken in these types of recipes.

For this Tasty recipe, you need 1/2 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of milk, 1 tsp of baking powder, 1 tsp of garlic powder, 1/2 a head of cauliflower, oil for frying, 1 Tbsp. of sesame oil, 1 Tbsp. of garlic, 1/2 cup of soy sauce, 1/4 cup of rice vinegar, 1 Tbsp. of sugar, 2 Tbsp. of sriracha, 1 Tbsp. of cornstarch slurry, and sesame seeds and chopped scallions for garnish.

For the instructions, whisk together flour, milk, baking powder and garlic powder. Add the chopped cauliflower and toss to coat. Make sure there’s a thin layer of batter over the cauliflower. Deep fry cauliflower until golden brown, remove and drain excess oil.

Next, make the spicy sesame sauce by combining the sesame oil, garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar and sriracha. Bring the sauce to a boil then add the cornstarch slurry.
