Amber Portwood just can't win with Gary Shirley.

Twitter Loves 'Teen Mom' Star Amber Portwood's New Hair

Although the Teen Mom OG star has been out of prison and clean from all drugs for over three years, her former fiance doesn't seem to be ready to allow her more rights to their 6-year-old daughter, Leah Shirley.

"I personally have given up on trying to change his mind about me, because he's an idiot," Portwood explains to her producer, Kiki, and her fiance, Matthew Baier, during an OK! Magazine sneak peek at tonight's new episode.

"I was so scared of doing this for such a long time because I knew this s**t was going to happen if I ever said that I was going for custody," she continued.

Then, Portwood started to break down, and told her producer and fiance, "I don't even want to talk about this anymore."

As Portwood's drama with Shirley plays out for the cameras on Teen Mom OG, the two have reportedly come to an agreement off-screen.

“I’m very happy that Gary and I are going to share joint custody of Leah,” Portwood recently told OK! Magazine. “This is something I’ve been waiting for. The time is perfect. We talked for 30 minutes and I said, ‘This is not healthy for any of us, this is not healthy for Leah, let’s just be adults and do this.’ There are certain things I did that made him feel a little better about it.”
