Agents of SHIELD's Mockingbird and Hunter have a brand new adventure in front of them in the form of Marvel's Most Wanted.

'Agents Of SHIELD' Season 3: Can Simmons Move On From Will's Death? Jed Whedon Explains

The highly anticipated spinoff is getting a pilot at ABC, and is that hour impresses the execs, Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter's (Nick Blood) time on Agents of SHIELD could be coming to a middle. The creation of Most Wanted doesn't mean the agents will drop off Coulson's (Clark Gregg) team forever, but it does mean their attention will most certainly be elsewhere.

"They'll have to step away for a moment, and we're very proud of that moment," co-showrunner Jed Whedon told IGN. However, Whedon was quick to remind the site that the couple is still "a part of our show."

Fellow showrunner Maurissa Tancharoen pointed out the two reasons why Bobbi and Hunter make such a great addition to SHIELD, which also happen to be the very same reasons why the couple are so suited to becoming Most Wanted's leads.

"It's very bittersweet because we have a bunch of females on the show who kick ass," Tancharoen said, according to IGN. "It was so nice to have Adrianne be one of them, and then also just when it comes to the humor, just having a moment of levity, Hunter was there to have those one-liners...that was something we could always bet on."

While we anxiously wait to hear if Most Wanted will make it to air, Marvelites can get their fill of Palicki and Blood's characters when Agents of SHIELD returns to ABC on March 8 at 9 p.m. ET. Click the video below to see the pair in a sneak peek for the SHIELD's latest episode, "Maveth."
