Discovery Channel's Killing Fields only began last week, but it will dig deeper into the 1997 cold case of Eugenie Boisfontaine.

Out-Of-Retirement Detective Rodie Sanchez Reopens Eugenie Boisfontaine Case From 1997 In 'Killing Fields'

Killing Fields has a brand new episode airing tonight, Jan. 12, which will take the detectives working on the case in different directions due to DNA results as noted in the press release. The Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office detectives need more insight into their victim, so they'll use cutting edge technology by enlisting experts to comb for evidence at the victim's crime scene.

Enstars has an exclusive sneak peek below, in which out-of-retirement detective Rhodes "Rodie" Sanchez and Detective Aubrey St. Angelo report to the crime scene and retrace Sanchez's original investigation from 1997.

"This is about the area where she was abducted," Rodie states, adding, "Because her personal belongings were found right in this area."

Rodie points out to Aubrey that their victim's driver's license and credit cards "were found in a circular pattern."

Aubrey then states a possible reasoning as to why her personal belongings wound up displayed the way they did, which Rodie seems to agree with, but they don't seem to agree on everything since they are detectives from different times.

Rodie then takes Aubrey over to the telephone poles that are right by the crime scene, noting, "Remember I told you we took several flyers and put them on telephone poles? We taped some to this pole and this pole."

What's so important about this information? A lot potentially, considering Rodie divulged that those flyers kept getting taken down from those two poles.

"When we put them up, come back the next day or the day after they were gone," Rodie said, adding, "On five different occasions."

"Is it like guilt?" Aubrey asks, adding, "Like he can't see her face?"

"It's a possibility," Rodie confirms, explaining, "Maybe it was a reminder to him of what he did to her."

Aubrey then suggests putting "another one back up" so they can attempt to "smoke him out if he's still out there."

Killing Fields airs on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on Discovery Channel.
