New York City is rife with nyphylim, demons, warlocks, fairies, werewolves, and vampires, but despite her half-angel/half-human lineage, 18-year-old Clary (Katheryn McNamara) is ignorant of it all. When her mother is kidnapped, however, all that will change.
The search is on for the missing mortal cup, and to find her mother, the young nyphylim will have to take her place amongst the demon-hunting Shadowhunters. After a chance meeting with Jace (Dominic Sherwood), Alec (Matthew Daddario), and Isabelle (Emeraude Toubia), Clary and her human friend Simon (Alberto Rosende) will tumble head-over-heals into a world of danger and passion.
Based on Cassandra Clare's widely popular YA novels, Shadowhunters will premiere Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on Freeform (formerly ABC Family). Starting with "The Mortal Cup," the series' first season will be comprised of 13 episode. Primarily drawing from "City of Bones," Shadowhunters will weave in pieces of all six current novels to satisfy both diehard fans and newbies alike.
