With 2016 now here, Bloodline fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of season 2 on Netflix.

'Bloodline' Star Ben Mendelsohn Talks Which Cast Members He Has 'Strong Feelings' For

Bloodline season 1 was released on Netflix on March 20 last year, and now we are rapidly approaching March again. Based on Netflix's usual release schedule, which is usually the dropping of a season at the same time every year, we may be closer to Bloodline than we think.

As for what fans should expect for season 2, some may be surprised that Danny (Ben Mendelsohn) still has a role in the series.

SPOILERS through the season 1 finale of Bloodline

John (Kyle Chandler) notably killed Danny in the penultimate episode of the season, suggesting that Mendelsohn's role on the series is over. However, Mendelsohn remains a series regular and has been filming season 2 in the Florida Keys along with everyone else.

As for how Danny could possibly be back, it's possible that season 2 will feature flashback sequences. It's also possible that Danny will stick around as a ghost, haunting the Rayburn family for the dark things they've done.

Season 2 will also feature the debut of two new actors, John Leguizamo and Andrea Riseborough. Leguizamo will play Ozzy Delvecchio, while Riseborough is playing Evangeline - both of which have a past with Danny. And Evangeline has some unfinished business with the Rayburn family.

It remains to be seen if Bloodline will return for season 2 in March, but even if it's later, Netflix is expected to release it in 2016, so fans shouldn't be too concerned.
