'Person Of Interest' Season 5: Can The Finale Function As A Series Finale? EP Details Show's Future

Person of Interest's fifth season was cut to 13 episodes, and then, to handicap the series even further, CBS bumped it from the fall lineup. Surprisingly, the drama didn't make the spring schedule either. While it's clear POI is nearing cancellation, viewers should rest assured that the season 5 episode will make it to air.

"We don't yet have a schedule, but I know these episodes will see the light of day," executive producer JJ Abrams told TV Line at the 2016 Television Critic's Association winter press tour. "People will get to see these episodes."

Speaking in the wake of Abrams' comments, CBS President Glenn Geller informed TCA attendees that the premiere might be closer than they think.

"We hope to get them on this spring; that's what we're targeting right now," Geller said, according to TV Insider. "[Executive producers] Greg [Plageman] and Jonah [Nolan] planned a terrific season. I can't wait for fans of the show to see it."
