Speculation that Scarlett Johansson was engaged swirled after she was spotted in New York City Monday with her French boyfriend, Romain Dauriac, sporting a diamond ring.

However, despite being spotted with her journalist boyfriend and a diamond ring, her representative has confirmed to PEOPLE that she is not engaged. "Scarlett is absolutely not engaged," the rep told the magazine.

In October last year, Johansson split from advertising executive Nate Naylor, her boyfriend of nearly one year.

The Avengers actress was married to Ryan Reynolds for two years before divorcing him in 2010. Shortly after her split, she also dated Sean Penn briefly.

Meanwhile, Reynolds tied the knot with Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively in September. The Hollywood couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in Mount Pleasant, S.C. on Sept. 9 and had kept many of the details a secret.

Some photos from the wedding were featured in the Martha Stewart Weddings Winter 2013 issue but the images did not show the couple's faces.
"While they remain protective of images of them on their most heartfelt occasion, they graciously let us share pictures of the elements we created together," the magazine explained.
The couple kept the wedding small with only 35 guests of close family and friends at the Boone Hill Plantation. There were few details released about the ceremony but it was reportedly a star-studded affair.
