Taylor Swift took to the stage at the BRIT Awards on Wednesday to perform a rendition of her hit single I Knew You Were Trouble as her ex-boyfriend, Harry Styles, looked on from the audience.

The 23-year-old performed with a group of male dancers while wearing a cutout short black jumpsuit that had gold detailing. At the Sony after-party at London's Arts Club, Styles commented on his ex-girlfriend's performance by saying, "I thought her performance was really good, she looked great."

Other performers included Justin Timberlake, Muse, Coldplay, Rihanna, Calvin Harris, Gotye, Rita Ora, Labrinth and Mumford & Sons.

At the BRIT Awards the 19-year-old along with the rest of his One Direction bandmates - Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson - were awarded the new Global Success award in recognition of their two hit albums. Styles said about his win, "It feels amazing."

Swift and Styles broke up in early January and to avoid any conflict that may have occurred at the award show, the two singers were kept far away from each other.

"No one wants anything awkward to happen. Taylor and Harry are definitely being kept well apart," a backstage insider said, according to Daily Mail. "Taylor is near Robbie [Williams], Justin Timberlake, Mumford & Sons and James Corden in one area -  Harry is down a different corridor with an extra-large room for himself and the other 1D lads."

The two singers also avoided each other during rehearsals for the show, with One Direction changing set schedules with Mumford & Sons to prevent any drama that might have occurred.
