Adele did not attend the BRIT Awards since she is in Los Angeles preparing for her Oscars performance this weekend. She accepted the Best Single honor with a recorded message:

"Thank you so much for this Brit Award, it means a lot," she said. "Sorry I can't be with you tonight, I'm in LA rehearsing for the Oscars. I won't keep you too long because I don't want to interrupt the best album speech at the end of the night. But I love you all."

Other winners from the 2013 BRIT Awards include One Direction, Frank Ocean, Lana Del Rey, The Black Keys, Coldplay and Mumford & Sons.
