It looks like Fox's Bones may be heading toward its conclusion relatively soon.

How Did Fox Respond To 'Bones' Executive Producer's Lawsuit?

Fox co-chairman and CEO Dana Walden spoke with critics at the TCA press tour on Friday about the future of Bones. There has been some uncertainty, especially considering they've yet to announce a return date for the spring and the show is in its 11th season - a rarity among TV shows.

Walden did not specifically say that Bones would be ending this season or next season, but one comment suggests that the end is probably in sight.

Brennan & Booth Will Feel Responsible For New Serial Killer's Murders On 'Bones'?

"We wouldn't do show without David [Boreanaz] and Emily [Deschanel]," Walden said. "So this is a conversation that would be continuing the series and announcing it as a final season in the 12th season or wrapping it in the 11th."

Fox does not want the show petering out; in fact, they are interested in giving it the most satisfying ending possible.

"We don't want this show limping to an ending. We want to send it out with style and class and the way it wants to be wrapped up ... I don't believe any of the practical elements of the production have been delayed," Walden said. "We hope to announce it soon."

There's also been some behind-the-scenes drama with Boreanaz, Deschanel and executive producers Barry Josephson and Kathleen Reichs. All four are involved in a legal battle against Fox, demanding money, alleging they have been shortchanged by the network. However, Walden said this does not factor into any renewal or cancellation decision.
