Will Netflix's Making a Murderer have a season 2? The docuseries' co-creators are hinting towards it!

Steven Avery's Ex-Fiancée Publicly Comments On 'Making A Murderer'

Making a Murderer co-creators Moira Demos and Laura Ricciardi spoke with critics at the TCA press tour this weekend and admitted they have some new material for a possible second season.

"I think today marks four weeks since the series launched and what we've managed to do in the past four weeks is have several phone calls with Steven Avery which we have recorded with an eye toward including them in future episodes," Ricciardi explained. "We have not returned to Wisconsin in the past four weeks."

Demos suggested they haven't given up on Avery's story.

"As we said before, in relation to this story, this story is ongoing, these cases are open," Demos said. "It's real-life so you don't know what's going to happen. We are ready... if there are significant developments, we will be there."

It's also possible that season 2 of Making a Murderer would be about a different story entirely, as Demos stated: "We are looking at other stories, as well."

Making a Murderer tells the story of Avery's multiple incarcerations and the justice system in Manitowoc County in Wisconsin that landed him in prison. The series attempts to prove the justice system to be corrupt, proving a compelling case for Avery's innocence.

Making a Murderer is currently available in its entirety on Netflix.
