Ben Affleck was very inspired by his Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder.
Affleck is making his big debut as Batman/Bruce Wayne in the upcoming blockbuster Batman v Superman, and he gained an appreciation for this type of film in the process. The actor spoke with USA Today recently and praised Snyder.
"I'll just say going through the process, I would never have imagined that I could or would direct a movie like this," he admitted. "And in working with (Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder) and seeing what he did and watching him every day, I got really inspired by that and by seeing the scope on which he was telling the story, by seeing what he was able to do with this kind of mythic story on a grand scale."
Last summer there were rumors of Affleck potentially writing, directing and starring in a solo Batman film. This has not been officially been confirmed by Affleck himself, though, but based on his comments, those early reports may prove to be truthful.
Batman v Superman also stars Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release on March 25.
