  • When the list of nominees for the upcoming Academy Awards 2016 was released, it was inevitable that there were some deserving who were left out.

These following stars performed nicely in their respective movies, but the men behind Oscars were unable to give them the nomination that they deserved. Furthermore, in this list, there were some people of color that failed to get the Oscar nod while all of the nominees were white. This issue has since sparked criticisms from fans and notable personalities alike.

Let's take a look at these following stars who were snubbed in the nominations of the 88th Academy Awards.
  • Michael B. Jordan did an amazing job in his movie titled "Creed" but he was unable to get the nod for Best Actor. He was also snubbed by Oscars in 2013 when he played the lead role in "Fruitvale Station."
  • Johnny Depp played the lead role in the box-office movie titled "Black Mass" but he failed to receive nomination for the Best Actor award.
  • Will Smith did an exceptional job playing the lead role in the movie titled "Concussion," which led to his nomination for the Best Actor award in Golden Globe. However, the Oscars failed to give him a recognition.
  • Emily Blunt played the lead role in "Sicario" but failed to receive a nomination even if the movie itself received several nominations. One commenter said that Blunt has been repeatedly "overlooked" by the Academy.
  • Idris Elba did not get the nod for the Oscar's Best Supporting Actor award even after an epic performance in "Beast of No Nation." The movie itself, which was highly-acclaimed by critics, was not considered by the Academy Awards.
  • Charlize Theron was left off for the Best Actress award even if her movie titled "Mad Max: Fury Road" got 10 Oscar nominations.
  • The Oscars did not rewarded Michael Keaton a nod for Best Supporting actor even if his movie titled "Spotlight" earned six nominations.
