Ice Cube isn't sweating the Oscars.

'Doctor Who' Season 10: Goodbye, Steven Moffat; Showrunner Steps Down As Return Date Announced

The Oscars are under fire once more for their lack of diversity, but the Straight Outta Compton producer is tacking a very levelheaded approach to the entire affair. He isn't boycotting the Awards, he is merely following a lifelong trend of simply not attending. Straight Outta Compton is up for Best Original Screenplay, but for Ice Cube, making a film isn't about getting recognition from the Academy.

"We don't do movies for the industry; we do movies for the fans, for the people. You know, the industry, if they give you a trophy or not, or pat you on the back or not, it's nice but it's not something you should dwell on," Ice Cube said Friday night on The Graham Norton Show.

While many critics thought the drama would find a home in the Best Picture category, it appears Ice Cube has moved on from the snub despite comments earlier this week. The film received accolades from viewers across the board, and that's all that really matters.

"We got so much praise for the movie, it's like how could you be mad because one other academy or guild or anybody didn't say it's the No. 1?" Ice Cube explained. "It's crying about not having enough icing on your cake."

The Oscars will air Feb 28 on ABC.
