While there's no doubt that Jamie Dornan has become one of Hollywood's hottest hunks thanks to his role as Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, it looks like his co-star Dakota Johnson is actually landing more roles beyond the franchise.

In fact, the brunette beauty recently named a role on The Sound of Metal alongside actor Matthias Schoenaerts.

The film will see Schoenaerts playing a rock star who is going deaf while Johnson will play the singer in his band. The actress has reportedly already started her singing lessons with shooting slating to begin next summer.

And while Johnson's career is flourishing, Dornan hasn't been cast in any upcoming Hollywood films in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, Johnson herself recently said that her parents Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith have been her biggest acting influences and that they have had a huge impact on her career.

She said, "My childhood I spent outdoors riding horses. It's the most comfortable place for me. I grew up travelling. I grew up on sets. I grew up going to new places. And I like it all ... Sometimes I talk to my parents about work. I keep it separate but I want them to see 'Black Mass.'"

Johnson is scheduled to film the next two sequels to Fifty Shades in Vancouver alongside Dornan. She plays Anastasia Steele in the films.
