Although pageant officials said that Miss Delaware Teen USA Melissa King has resigned amid accusations that she appeared in an online porno video, the beauty contestant is claiming that she's not stepping down from her crown because of the x-rated allegations.

The 18-year-old had informed Delaware Online that she was aware of the video footage, but that it was not her.

In a phone interview conducted on Monday, King acknowledged the racy footage and denied ever appearing in it, saying, "Absolutely not. It is not."

Prior to her resignation, the teen also added that comments made on the X-rated footage claiming she's the star of the recorded sex tryst shouldn't be believed.

"There are comments saying this, however, it's not comments that are true," King said.

"The Miss Delaware Teen USA pageant has received a resignation letter from Miss King's attorney," pageant spokeswoman Dara Busch said via email.

Pageant officials said that King is being represented by Hagerstown attorney J. Gregory Hannigan. The attorney spoke to the news publication and said that a statement in regards to the resignation will be issued.

Pageant spokesperson Dara Busch said that the pageant's runner-up will step in to replace King. The site of the pageant lists Hailey Lawler from Newark area as the 2012 runner-up.

While King is undoubtedly in the midst of being chastised by the general public for her poor alleged decision, she's actually said to be quite intelligent.

According to the Miss Delaware USA website, she was "inaugurated into the National Society of High School Scholars due to her exceptionally high SAT scores, GPA, and AP scores."

She also reportedly earned the Todd O'Cropper scholarship while a senior in high school for "commendable combined outstanding achievement in athletics, community services, and academics to help fund her college education."

King is currently a freshman studying communications at the College of Philadelphia.
