After President Barack Obama sang Al Green's hit "Let's Stay Together" at a fundraising event in New York, sales of the song rose 490 percent, according to a report from Nielsen SoundScan.

The Hollywood Reporter noted that more than 16,000 copies of the song were downloaded in the week ending Jan. 22, one week after Obama's remarkable "performance."

The video went viral in You Tube with more than 4 million views as of today.
