Rockstar Games is launch Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5) on Sept. 17 on Sony's PlayStation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360 with a title for the next-generation consoles likely to follow.

Analyst Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities was quoted in a report by Video Gamer stating that GTA 5 will likely come "eventually" for the PS 4 and Xbox 720.

While Pachter said that the game will come to the consoles he added that it will not happen at its launch: "If you go back to the PlayStation 3 E3, the 06 E3, they showed Red Dead Redemption, remember? What year did that bad boy come out? 2010? It only took four years, and it was shown, it was shown during a launch event. So that's about the pace I think Rockstar is on. I think Rockstar will have a game before the PS5."

Pachter's analysis goes against rumors that Rockstar is allegedly going to release GTA 5 for PS4 just before the holiday shopping season, according to Trusted Reviews.

The official September release was also a delayed date that fans were not expecting which prompted production sparked conspiracy theories.

One of the theories stated that Rockstar pushed back the release date in order to work on a GTA 5 title for Sony and Microsoft's next-generation consoles.

However, the conspiracy theories were denied by Rockstar in an official statement"To those of you saying or seeing various conspiracy theories about there being some other ulterior motive for this delay, rest assured that they're all nonsense - literally the only reason we've delayed the release is because we want the game to be as good as it needs to be."

It is still unknown if GTA 5 will be released on PC or Wii U.

Dan Houser, vice president for Rockstar Games, was interviewed by IGN about other console versions of GTA 5 stating: "Everything else is up for consideration. That's all I can give you."

An online petition was started on Feb. 7 by eager gamers to have Rockstar release a PC version of the game released that has almost 160,000.

It is unknown how seriously the game company will take the petition.
