Packer popped the question while the two were enjoying a vacation in Aspen.

Carey and her longtime boyfriend James Packer shocked fans when it was revealed that they were planning a wedding. But what might have even been more shocking is the 35-carat diamond he put on her ring finger. All the while, Carey and Packer are still legally married to their exes (Nick Cannon and Erica Packer, who is currently dating singer Seal).

As for her and Cannon’s five-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, there is no word on how they feel about Carey’s upcoming wedding. But Carey did say in the interview, “They love to travel,” as she prepares to go on tour in Europe.

“They’ve been so many places. More than a lot of adults I’m sure. But you know, it wouldn’t be the same without them. So it’s something that I’m looking forward to because they like to come to the shows.”

She said she is still “amazed” when her daughter belts out the tunes with her.



Meanwhile, rumor has spread that Cannon is the reason for the two still being legally married. It’s been said that Cannon is dragging his feet as the two try to come to an agreement on the financial side of their divorce.
