Does Emily Brooke have what it takes to go further in the competition than she did last year on American Idol?

More Chatter On 'American Idol' Season 15 Contestants

In a new sneak peek posted on TV Line on Wednesday, the young singer is trying to fight her fears to show the judges- and the country- that she has what it takes to be a star. The site pointed out that Brooke was cut from the competition in Season 14 right before the Top 24 announcement.

The singer realizes that every performance she puts on has to be "better than the last," which gives her the knowledge that she can't have the same thing happen with her previous elimination. Any mistake she makes can jeopardize her future. No pressure, right?

Who Is Ryan Seacrest's Favorite 'American Idol' Winner Of All Time?

Brooke takes on the hardest song for the week, which is "What Hurts the Most" by Rascal Flatts. Despite her voice not being totally "full," she still lets out her sound as the judges watch with anticipation.

Sitting at the table, Jennifer Lopez tells Harry Connick Jr that Brooke wasn't ready before. And based on Connick's reaction, he may realize that a lot can change after one year.

Keith Urban, on the other hand, seems more hesitant about letting Brooke continue and it could be due to the fact that her voice changed notes in this performance in a way that may have sounded less pleasing to the ear- but only for a moment.

The next episode of American Idol airs on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
