You know the saying, "There's an app for that?" Now you can include singing sensation Taylor Swift on that list. The musician is getting her very own game app, due out by late 2016. Already pumped to download the latest offering from the "Shake It Off" singer? Here's everything you need to know about your new favorite app.

It's Not Her First App

The honor of the first Taylor Swift app goes to Amex Unstaged: Taylor Swift Experience, which came out last year. But this is her first game, and the hundreds of millions of TSwift fans out there are eager and waiting to start playing. The as-yet unnamed game will be released by Glu Mobile, which has already made a pretty penny pushing celebrity games out to the public.

Star-Studded Appeal

Taylor Swift isn't alone in jumping on the celebrity app bandwagon; Kim Kardashian's game Kim Kardashian Hollywood has already gone global, with millions of people logging on daily (and spending a lot of money on in-game purchases in their efforts to achieve digital fame). And even more stars are gearing up to go the app route. Nicki Minaj, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, and Britney Spears are all working on their own versions of mobile app games. The Jenner sisters will see their app drop later this month; how it does will reportedly heavily inform on which direction Swift's own game will take.

Not Always A Hit

While Kim Kardashian's amazingly addictive mobile game has become the app to beat for other stars, not all celebrities have succeeded in this field. Katy Perry released her own game, Pop, with Glu in late 2015. Despite heavy promotion (and Perry's own considerable star power), the game was a major flop. Critics called it just a retread of Kardashian's game; proof that to succeed in the app world, you still have to think of something new.

In fact, that's the reason Glu pursued Taylor Swift; hoping to regain some users (and make up for all that lost capital), the company jumped pop stars, bailing on Perry and setting their sights on Swift. This probably won't help with all the rumors of bad blood between the two singers.

What's In Store

Glu has been extremely tight-lipped about the new app, promising only that it will be an experience like no other. This hints that they realized from the whole Perry debacle that simply copying the same formula isn't enough to guarantee success. So what can we expect from Taylor Swift's game? Personally, I'm hoping for something along the lines of her sensational "Bad Blood" video--a pop star futuristic fighting app (maybe with a few cats thrown in for good measure)? Sounds like a mobile app dream come true.
