As fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County will recall, Gunvalson learned of her mother's unexpected passing during season 10, and one year later, she shared a touching tribute to Steinmetz on Instagram.
"[One] year ago today, our family lost our amazing, fun, beautiful, classy talented mother & Nana," Gunvalson wrote on Thursday. "There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss her & I hope she hears me when I speak to her in heaven. I lift our family up in prayer today as we mourn our beautiful Joanne. Life is not the same without you."

Gunvalson also mentioned her former friend, Shannon Beador, in her post.
"To @shannonbeador you hold a special place in my heart because I was at your home when I received that awful news . #missyoumom, #family, #mourning, #lifeisshort #hugyourmoms," she added.
Gunvalson and Beador became close after filming season nine, but during season 10, the two women had a falling out due to the controversy of her former boyfriend Brooks Ayers' allegedly fake cancer diagnsosis.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 11 is currently in production and expected to air later this year on Bravo.
