The Super Bowl may be the most watched television event of the year - but it certainly isn't the cutest.

The 12th annual Puppy Bowl is set to go down live today at 3 p.m. ET on Animal Planet. The network worked with 44 animal shelters and rescue organizations all across America for the event. The teams "competing" in this year's Puppy Bowl are Team Ruff and Team Fluff and are each made up of adoptable puppies.

"The network also is partnering with the Pro Football Hall of Fame to introduce the Puppy Bowl Hall of Fame to honor legacy players throughout PUPPY BOWL and promote the adoption of older 'veteran' animals in addition to puppies and kittens," says Animal Planet.

Among shelters and organizations that will be represented in this Puppy Bowl include the Arizona Humane Society, Citizens for Animal Protection (Texas), Green Dogs Unleashed (Virginia), Little Dog Rescue (Florida), Mr. Bones & Company (New York), Nevada SPCA, Paws Chicago, and Williamson County Animal Center (Tennessee) and more.

Watch The Puppy Bowl On Animal Planet (Plus Live Stream Puppy Cam!)

Unfortunately, Animal Planet is not providing a live stream of the Puppy Bowl itself. This means you'll have to watch it on TV if you can - it remains to be seen if the game will be available online afterwards.

But Animal Planet does have a Puppy Cam live stream with footage from the locker room. You can watch this live now here.
