He became concerned when he learned she hadn't picked up their son from a birthday party, and after learning she had been determined to go to Elizabeth's (Rebecca Herbst), Jason (Billy Miller) will try to seek out Sam (Kelly Monaco) and make sure she's okay on General Hospital.

However, after arriving at the house and hearing the smoke alarms blaring, he will realize that the house is an unsafe place to be, and will try to find out if Sam is still inside.

"Sam, if you're here, answer me," he calls out in a preview clip for the Monday, February 8 episode.

Sam's Life Is In Danger

However, Sam won't be able to answer him, because she's at the source of why the smoke alarms are going off. After she fell down the stairs of the basement trying to get to Jake (James Nigborn), she suffered a concussion and passed out. After waking up she struggled to keep warm and plugged in a heater she found. However, the unit has a frayed cord and had been showering electrical sparks--directly over a pan of oil. Between the building smoke from the explosion that's waiting to happen and her weakened state, Sam has again passed out and can't alert Jason as to her location.

However, as he notices the smoke, he will head towards the basement--but he may not be able save Sam's life in time. The two could be in for their biggest struggle yet as they try to escape the house before it's too late.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
