Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright have been dating since last year, and according to what fans have seen on Vanderpump Rules, they met in Las Vegas. However, a new report states otherwise.

Along with several other celebrity girlfriends, Cartwright was recently included in a new article about celebrity groupies who have met their boyfriend online.

"Twitter was in a tizzy last month when actor Jake T. Austin (“The Fosters,” “Wizards of Waverly Place”) tweeted a photo of himself kissing new girlfriend Danielle Caesar, a fangirl who had been publicly messaging him on the app for five years," Page Six reported on Sunday. "“Vanderpump Rules” lothario Jax Taylor met his current flavor of the month, Hooters waitress Brittany Cartwright, on Instagram. And “Teen Mom” Amber Portwood struck up a romance with unemployed father of seven Matt Baier on Twitter."

After catching wind of the article, which was titled, "How groupies are trawling social media to seduce celebrities," Cartwright offered the following response on Twitter:

Scheana Marie's mother, Erika, also spoke out against the article, claiming it was during Schean's birthday celebration that Cartwright met the reality star.
