Valentine's Day has once again snuck up on us and in just a few day's time couples around the world will be exchanging gifts meant to show their significant other just how much they love them.

However, not everyone may be feeling the love-maybe there's been no time to shop for the perfect gift, money is tight, or nothing has really jumped out as the right way of expressing love. You don't want to show up to your Valentine's Day celebration empty-handed though-so why not make some great gifts of your  own instead?

Here are five great DIY gift ideas that are sure to be a hit:

Heart-Shaped Pizza:

Pizza is generally a staple food in most diets, and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't enjoy a slice or two...or six....every now and then. So why not show your love for your pizza-loving significant other with a heart-shaped version of their favorite food? Not only is it thoughtful (and delicious), but it's a money-saver because you may not need to splurge on that big fancy dinner now either. Recipe here.

Love Coupons:

These are a perfect way to ensure you never break a promise you do something in the future, and give you something to look forward to for more than just one day. Making a book of coupons is a perfect way to either plan sweet and adorable dates, promise to massage sore feet after a long day of work, or if you're feeling frisky, spice things up in the bedroom. Find one way to do them here.

Bacon Rose Bouquet:

Sure, real roses are nice and they definitely smell amazing-but beyond putting them in a vase filled with water and staring at them until they die, there isn't much that can be done with them. Plus, it's pretty rare women buy these for the guy in their life. That's where a bouquet of roses made out of bacon is a perfect idea. Less expensive than a dozen roses and likely more satisfying because they're delicious, they can be a great gift for the less conventional girl, and they also work for the woman who wants to give her man flowers, but knows he'll scoff at the artfully arranged bouquet you got at the florist. Date-Night Ideas Book:

Similar to the love coupons, this idea works for couples who might sometimes be too busy to plan proper date nights throughout the year and need a little help making those plans. Plan out at least one night for each of the months of the year, and customize them to include things you both love to do. Whether you guys decide to play hooky from work for the day and hit the beach for fun in the sun in August, or choose to snuggle on the couch with a great movie and some hot chocolate on a snowy day in December, these will help you remember to take a minute to appreciate what you have all year long. Chocolate Stuffed Strawberries:

Anyone can make a chocolate-covered strawberry-but what about a version that amps up the chocolatey goodness? This video from Tasty shows you step-by-step on how to fill strawberries with delicious chocolate, then cover them with more for an amazing dessert experience. Watch here.
