Newcastle vs Stoke takes place in the English Premier League on Sunday with Newcastle looking to move further away from the relegation zone.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m. UK time and can be watched online through live stream by clicking here.

Newcastle currently lie in 15th position in the EPL with 30 points from their 28 games so far. They will be keeping their eye on the goal to reach the magic 40 points - which generally is considered the amount needed for safety.

Meanwhile, Stoke will also know they still have work to do; they currently lie in 11th position and are just 3 points ahead of Newcastle. Stoke have 33 points from their 28 games, but if they lose today Newcastle will pull up alongside them on 33 points - if Newcastle win by two goals then the sides will also be locked on the same goal difference at -9.

In Newcastle team news Papiss Cisse will be fit to play after he missed their Europa League tie in midweek with a virus. Also Mathieu Debuchy and Yoan Gouffran are back in the squad, having been ineligible in Europe.

For Stoke, Matthew Etherington could play despite a back problem, and striker Michael Owen is available after a thigh injury.

Earlier this season Stoke won the corresponding fixture at the Britannia Stadium 2-1, with Jon Walters and Cameron Jerome scoring in the final nine minutes to complete a comeback win. That result was hugely disappointing for Newcastle, and they will be looking to set the record straight at St James’ Park today.

If Stoke can win today they will complete the season double over Newcastle for the second time in three seasons - they also did so in the 2010-2011 season.
