Following months of rumors, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback and his leading lady took their romance on the road over the weekend and attended a Valentine's Day charity event as a couple.

"The two have been dating for months ... but they finally surfaced as an official couple this weekend at a Valentine's Day charity event," TMZ reported on Monday. "Colin and Nessa attended the Valentine Hearts fundraiser to benefit Camp Taylor--a free camp for kids battling heart disease--where they spent hours hanging out with the campers!"

Aldon Smith Denies DUI After Rumored Fight With Colin Kaepernick Over Ex-Girlfriend Nessa

Rumors first began swirling in regard to Kaepernick's relationship with Nessa in August of last year, when he and his then-teammate, Aldon Smith, were allegedly involved in a physical altercation as they prepared for the 2015-2016 NFL season.

Although it was not clarified whether or not the two men were arguing over Nessa when their fight began, Smith was later arrested for DUI, vandalism and hit and run, and reports swirled, claiming his fight with Kaepernick had drove him to drink.

At the time of the players' on-the-field fight, sources told TMZ that "players had to pull them apart."

"Smith and Hot 97 host Nessa broke up in recent months, and even though she and Kaep have not been photographed together... rumors they're together have persisted," the report explained.
