The Big Bang Theory is set to return on Thursday with an all-new installment, titled The Closet Reconfiguration.  With only six episodes remaining, the show will surely continue to pick up its pace.

The 19th episode of season six will feature Leonard and Penny throwing a semi-serious cocktail party with themselves and some friends, but it isn't going exactly as planned.

It will also involve Howard Wolowitz receiving a mysterious letter from his father, as he'll mull over a decision on whether or not he wants any future contact with him.

Although the issue hasn't been addressed too much on the show, it's common knowledge that Howard was left by the man at a very young age.

Last week's episode of the show saw Wolowitz, Sheldon and Leonard chatting up a class of junior high-school girls in order to convince them that there's a place for women in the world of science.

O Canada reports that the last installment of the series was based on a story idea by Big Bang Theory co-creator Chuck Lorre, who was present at the show's early beginnings when the CBS commissioned a pilot episode, only for the network's upper brass to decide that they didn't fancy it very much and wanted everything altered.

Looking back on the apparent sitcom issue now, the site states that it's hard to imagine that the program had any troubles at all due to the millions of viewers it now appeases on a weekly basis.

During the week of Feb. 18, the series was runner-up just behind the Academy Awards with a whopping six million viewers, but did beat out the Oscar's red carpet pre-show by over 300,000 viewers, reports the site.

The Big Bang Theory is set to premiere The Closet Reconfiguration at 8 p.m. EST on Thursday on the CBS network. The trailer of the upcoming show can be watched below.
