Shocking photos of Jennie Garth were posted in a report that revealed that the blonde beauty wears hair extensions. The image may come as a surprise to fans of the former star of Beverly Hills 90120 because she has always been known for her good looks.

Garth was photographed applying her own hair extensions in a hair salon. The close-up shots taken by paparazzi showed the What I Like About You actress inserting the hair weave onto her scalp with a pair of blue pliers on Tuesday. The 40-year-old tightly clasped the strands individually and eventually received assistance from two hairstylists who finished the job.

Garth recently opened up about maintaining her good looks through diet and exercise. After splitting from Twilight star Peter Facinelli last year after 11 years of marriage, she successfully lost 30 lbs. She admitted that keeping the weight off has been a challenge because of her sweet tooth.

"Maintenance is definitely challenging. It's something you have to do daily," Garth told People.

"You have to remind yourself what your priorities are and remind yourself about staying healthy and living a healthy life," she added.

She maintains her diet by eating gluten-free and various types of exercise.

"Every day, I try to schedule something in, whether it's hiking with my dog or jogging or going to the gym," said Garth. "Those are the things I'm focused on right now."

Garth is currently dating rocker Jeremy Salken. The couple were seen together in Toronto, Canada when she was filming her next movie Home Again.
