The BlackBerry Z10 is available for pre-order through AT&T and Verizon.

The BBZ10 smartphones are on pre-sale for $199.99 with a two-year contract through AT&T with an official March 22 release date, according to CNET.

Verizon customers can pre-order the device starting on March. 14 and be available in stores on March 28 with the same price deal as competitor AT&T.

The new touch-screen BB Z10 comes with a 4.2-inch high-resolution display with 356 pixels-per-inch (ppi), a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 plus processor, 2 GB of RAM. The devices come with 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 64GB in size. It also features textured backing that makes will make it more comfortable to hold and an 8-megapixel camera that can record 1080p HD video.

RadioShack is also offering a deal for customers who pre-order the new device through the tech retailer by offering a $30 in-store gift card, according to N4BB.

BlackBerry will also soon release the Q10 model that has a conventional QWERTY-keyboard which fits the look of previous smartphones from the company. However, it will come with a glass-weave cover that makes it thinner, lighter, and stronger than other handsets, according to Bloomberg.

The Q10 is scheduled to be released in April around the world, but may be pushed back to a date in May or possibly June in the U.S. due to new device tests to be completed prior to putting them on the market, according to The Associated Press.

Both the BlackBerry devices will run on the latest BB 10 operating system, but the BB Z10 is the first to launch with the software.

The handset will also be the first BlackBerry device to operate over AT&T's 4G LTE network.

The new BlackBerry smartphone will join a competitive market that is dominated primarily by Apple's iPhone 5.

Only time will tell to see how well the BB Z10 compares against Apple's device for the attention of consumers.
