The Jurassic Park trilogy that began in the 1990s will have a fourth installment, slated to be released in 3-D in theaters on June, 13, 2014.

However, Steven Spielberg will not direct the film but instead be replaced with Colin Trevorrow, according to E! News. Trevorrow's directorial debut was in 2012 with Safety Not Guaranteed, a comedy about three magazine reporters who interview a man seeking a companion to time travel with him. Kristen Bell, Jake Johnson and Aubrey Plaza starred in the film.

Jurassic Park IV will be Trevorrow's first mega-budget movie and the past films have grossed millions. The first and second Jurassic Park films earned $915 million and $619 million in the global box office, according to the news report.

The third one, directed by Joe Johnston and released in 2001, earned $369 million.

Spielberg announced in 2011 that a fourth installment of Jurassic Park was in the works and he will be the executive producer of Jurassic Park IV. According to BBC, Universal Studios haven't revealed the cast of the new dinosaur film but the screenplay will be written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, the duo that wrote the screenplay for Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

The original Jurassic Park will also be re-released in 3-D on April, 5, 2013.
