'The Voice' Coach Christina Aguilera Reflects On 'Stripped'

According to a new report, Matt Rutler was recently spotted with The Voice coach and their daughter, Summer Rain, in Brentwood, Calif., briefly driving with the young child on his lap.

"While stopped on the side of the road little Summer Rain hopped in Daddy's lap. No big deal, until they drove off and she remained in that dangerous position," TMZ reported on Friday. "Based on the pics, it appears Rutler only drove about 100 yards or so down the road before pulling into a parking spot, but it's still a clear violation and extremely risky -- remember there's an airbag just inches from Summer."

According to a report by the Daily Mail, the Digest of Motor Laws includes the following rules:

Children under the age of eight and under 57” must be properly secured in a car seat or booster seat.

From January 1, 2017, children under the age of two, and under 40lbs or under 40”, must be properly secured in a rear-facing child restraint system.

California law specifically requires children to be properly restrained, meaning the lap belt is low on the hips, touching the upper thighs, and the shoulder belt is crossing the center of the chest.

Children in rear-facing car seats may not ride in the front if there is an active passenger air bag.
